Bringing back to life a fascinating pair of mid-17th century maps, these prints depict the Eastern and Western Hemispheres in exquisite detail. Though undated, the states and treaties featured on this copperplate engraving pinpoint the date to around 1660. Originally hand-coloured to illustrate geographic regions, it’s been digitally restored here in our Lancashire studio to piece together the original 12 sheets per hemisphere.
Printed and framed using archival methods to ensure it will last another 400 years, this pair of maps comes mounted in sustainable wood frames ready for you to hang. As with all our prints, each and every element is hand cut, printed and assembled in Britain to create pictures of distinction with minimal carbon footprint.
